If you ask why Modi keep on Travelling? How Modi made Pakistan irrelevant in India’s foreign policy?

For years, the centre of India’s foreign policy was Pakistan. Love it or hate it. This was the country that the external affairs ministry had to break its head over most of the times. You can’t brush off four wars (1947-48, 1965, 1971 and 1999), two conflicts (Rann of Kutch and Siachen), militancy in Kashmir that claimed tens of thousands of lives and terrorist attacks all over India.

More importantly, Pakistan held the trump cards when it came to America, China, Afghanistan and the entire Arab world. All these countries would always favour Pakistan over India. We had Russia on our side but even it became neutral with the collapse of communism in 1991.

Detractors are laughing at how Prime Minister Narendra Modi is touring one country after another like a mere tourist. He is being ridiculed as a non-resident Prime Minister. However, his visits are already paying rich dividends. Here’s how.

For one, Modi is snatching away Pakistan’s allies one by one. The first is America. Ever since US President Barack Obama took over, he didn’t care two hoots for India. That has drastically changed. The Obama-Modi bromance is being talked about all over the world.

In one meet, Obama ran to Modi, held his hands and called him a "man of action". Modi's stance at the recently concluded climate talks in Paris was greatly appreciated by Obama and one environmental news website even called Modi as the "Man who saved the world".

More importantly, the results are already coming in. The dead Indo-US nuclear deal was revived and hectic parleying over both strategic and economic ties are taking place.

China is similarly being engaged and trade deals are being inked left, right and centre. India has taken an aggressive stand against border incursions and China is known to respect a tough adversary.

“Afghanistan is being engaged too and Modi’s recent visit was a landmark.”
Tweeted Habib Khan Totakhil, a Wall Street Journal reporter in Kabul...

That’s the kind of change happening which is changing the perception as far as India is concerned.

A watershed event is our engagement with the Arab world. A red carpet welcome awaited Modi in UAE, where more than one of the rulers of the Emirates came to receive him, a rarity. Trade ties were taken forward and terror was discussed.

Don Dawood Ibrahim may have his home in Pakistan, but his office is in Dubai. Modi has conveniently bypassed Pakistan and got UAE to squeeze Dawood’s operations in Dubai. A few terror suspects have already been deported to India and an accused in the AugustaWestland scam has been located.

Bangladesh (which shares a love-hate relationship with Pakistan) is being engaged and they have started extraditing militants. Shutting Pakistan’s terror camps will go a long way in neutralising Pakistan. (Again we are bypassing them).

For that, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has to be given due credit. He is discussed more on Pakistani TV channels than Indian ones.

Modi has visited other Muslim countries like Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Modi is isolating Pakistan in the Muslim world itself and that’s a big handicap for our neighbour.

Interestingly, we are making progress with every country in West Asia. What are the chances that a country can significantly hike ties with both Israel and Muslim countries? Modi is doing just that. They may be rivals, but both of them want to do business with India. That’s just the way Modi is engaging both America and China, despite their rivalry.

Modi has thrown the zero sum game in the dustbin which had been plaguing the sub-continent. He can engage with everyone simultaneously. This is without mentioning countries like Australia, Germany, Canada, Brazil etc, where our ties are way ahead of Pakistan.

If you analyse the way we are engaging with countries like Myanmar and Bhutan, the encirclement of Pakistan is complete. It is a classical strategy of surrounding your enemy and isolating it. Of course, it’s not a military tactic but a diplomatic one!

Modi’s biggest trump card is trade. Both the British Empire and the US superpower dominated not on military might alone, but trade too. It’s the economy stupid! India has overtaken China in GDP growth rate and Modi is making India irresistible for every country in the world.

The Chabahar Port in Iran is just one small example.

In the future, Pakistan may be forced to make peace because, potentially, India could be Pakistan’s biggest trading partner.

It’s not all Modi. He has dollops of luck on his side. India-hater Mahinda Rajapaksa lost in Sri Lanka and India is weaning the island nation away from China towards itself. Russian president Vladimir Putin is flexing his muscles on the world stage and counting on India.

After the spat with Turkey, a top official flew down to India to offer Turkey-related business to India and we accepted. Indo-Russia ties could go back to the pre-1991 days without any problems with America and China.

Pakistan is no longer what it was. Pakistan occupied Kashmir is witnessing protests for reunification with India. The Balochistan independence movement is gaining ground. The war in North Waziristan has claimed the lives of 6,000 Pakistani military personnel and 30,000 terrorists and rages on without an end in sight.

Thanks to this, the Pakistani Army is jaded and for the first time in ages has agreed to join Indo-Pak talks should their representatives be called. More than 60,000 Pakistani civilians have been killed in terrorist attacks since 9/11.

The death-rate in Kashmir militancy has crashed in the 2010s, thanks to all of the above.

There is a famous saying which first appeared in the essays of Francis Bacon, "If the mountain won’t come to Muhammad then Muhammad must go to the mountain." The way our foreign policy is shaping up, we won’t have to go to Pakistan.

Pakistan may well be forced to come to us with a workable peace offering.

For that Modi has already shown that he is accessible. He invited Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif to India for his swearing in, met him on the sidelines of summits and recently visited Lahore when he was invited at extremely short notice.

The sight of Modi and Sharif hugging and then walking hand in hand like a couple of schoolboys was a sight to behold.

Our foreign policy is working and Modi should just keep at it!

6 Things Every Healthy Couple Does

1. They always sleep together.
It doesn't matter if you're fighting or sick or whatever. Strong couples always end their days together. They know going to bed with unresolved issues is okay. Issues can be resolved later. Kiss each other goodnight.

2. They send little messages throughout the day. They leave a favorite candy on their lover's desk or send a quick text. Just to say I love you randomly. We can get swept up in day to day business, but don't forget to leave that post it note with a heart on it on the coffee pot.

3. They constantly touch.
They don't just sit on the couch together. They cuddle. They don't just walk. They hold hands. They don't just sleep. They spoon. They're constantly in touch with one another.

4. They know being happy is more important than being right. If a petty argument can't be stopped, they just let it go. They leave it in the ether and move on with their happy lives together. They know that being happy is way more important than being right.

5. They don't play games. When couples play games, no one wins, and they know that.

6. They don't try to change each other. If one is bent on changing themselves, their partner should step up and support them! But you can't change your partner if they don't want to. Frankly you shouldn't anyway. You might miss the person they were.

7 Facts You Need To Know About Abdul Kalam Island

India's Most Advanced Missile Testing Site

One of India's key missile testing facilities - Wheeler Island - located off the coast of Odisha, will be named after President APJ Abdul Kalam, whose death in July this year triggered a nationwide outpouring of grief, the government has said.

Where is it ?
10 kilometers off the Odisha coast on the Bay of Bengal. The Island, which is about 2 kilometers in length and 390 acres.

A legacy of missile testing ::
It is India's most advanced missile testing site in the Bay of Bengal should now be named 'Kalam Island'. The missiles which were launched from the Wheeler Island include Akash, Agni, Astra, BrahMos, Nirbhay, Prahaar, Prithvi, Shaurya and Advanced Air Defence, and Prithvi Air Defence.

Kalam had requested the Ministry of Defence for the island ::
Remembering Kalam's association with Odisha and the Island, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen said Kalam was working at Defence Research and Development Organization, Balasore for pretty long. "It was Biju Babu (Biju Patnaik), who allotted the historic Wheeler Island to the ministry of defence on the request of Dr Kalam in 1993," Naveen added.

Missiles and Poems ::
It was there that Kalam tested scores of missiles. The quiet sea washed sylvan surroundings also gave him inspiration to write many poems for his book "My Journey".

Kalam's Theatre of Action ::
As the man pioneering missile development in India, he himself described the Wheeler Island as his 'theater of action'. The first successful land-to-land test of the Prithvi Missile was conducted from the mainland and it landed on the then uninhabited 'Wheeler Island' on November 30, 1993.

Who was Wheeler?
The island was named after an English commandant Lieutenant Wheeler. "It is high time we need to call it Kalam Island since it is a one-of-its-kind hi-tech facility in India and it was actually spotted and built from scratch by Kalam," asserts V K Saraswat, member of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) had commented in August 2015.
Saraswat was Kalam's associate for 35 years as a missile scientist and then rose to be the Director General of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). In 1993, it was Saraswat and his co-worker S K Salwan who as scientists were the first to set foot on the 'Wheeler Island' when Kalam instructed them to look for these uninhabited islands that he had initially spotted on the naval hydrographic maps.

Humble beginnings ::

Saraswat recalls those sultry day in 1993 when he hired a boat for Rs 250 and then got lost in the Bay of Bengal and had to spend the night on the Wheeler Island itself surviving on bananas. The islands were not visible from the mainland. In his book "Ignited Minds: Unleashing the Power Within India", Kalam writes "to their surprise they (Saraswat & Salwan) found a Bangladeshi flag flying atop a tree, as the island may have been frequented by fishermen from the neighboring country. My friends quickly removed the flag".

GSAT-6A's big antenna deployed by ISRO

While every channel was busy in covering News about Sheena Bora Murder Story. ISRO on August 27th 2015 successfully Launched GSLV-D6 carrying GSAT-6. Only few news papers found few space to publish this in their News Papers. But the less-celebrated textbook launch of GSLV-D6 was by far one of the most significant moments in the history of India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) programme.

Why GSAT-6A is so important to India?

ISRO  said that it had deployed the S-Band Unfurlable Antenna of six metre diameter successfully. The satellite was launched by ISRO's heavy rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark II (GSLV) and was successfully placed into geo transfer orbit (GTO) on Thursday. One of the advanced features of GSAT-6 satellite is its S-Band Unfurl able Antenna of six meter diameter - the largest satellite antenna released by ISRO. "This antenna is utilized for five spot beams over the Indian mainland, which exploit the frequency reuse scheme to increase frequency spectrum utilization efficiency," said ISRO.

What was the message to World?

India has built and validated a perfectly working cryogenic engine. And the highly complicated engine has delivered a perfect performance on flight not once but twice (GSLV-D6 was the second successful launch using the indigenously developed cryogenic engine after the January 2014 launch). This, despite sanctions and restrictions (on transfer of dual use technologies) thrown at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) by developed nations who were clearly not comfortable with the idea of another player entering their select grouping that had the capability to launch heavy communication satellites.

What makes developed nations worry?

Space agencies of developed nations have reason to be worried about Indian space programme in general and GSLV’s success in particular. Consider this: It cost ISRO $36 million to put GSAT-6 using GSLV-D6 in orbit. This is far lower than the $60 million cost that the European Space Agency’s Ariane 5 entails. ISRO says it is now ready to launch commercial satellites weighing up to 2.2 tonne.

Why do others can start preferring ISRO?

ISRO has to keep launching more GSLVs to establish the reliability of the launch vehicle. Its customers who are investing multi-million dollars in building advanced satellites are not going to hand over them to ISRO simply on the basis of lower cost. Reliability is the key in this business and it comes from repeated textbook launches. If ISRO’s smaller launch vehicle PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) is attracting orders in droves it is because it has been in service for 20 years and has had 29 continuous successful launches.

What's next by ISRO?

The next real technology leap for ISRO is GSLV Mark III which will have the capability to put satellites weighing 5 tonne in orbit. It is a much larger vehicle weighing 640 tonne (GSLV-D6 in comparison weighed 416 tonne). ISRO is developing a bigger cryogenic engine for this vehicle and it has now been tested for 800 seconds. If GSLV Mark III succeeds, India will gain the capability to launch any communication satellites in the world. GSLV-D6’s success gives the confidence that it is only a matter of time before that will happen too.

Rahul Gandhi been accurate? True to facts? Not always.

Reality check: Has Rahul Gandhi been accurate in making political attacks on Narendra Modi government?

Back from his sabbatical, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has been combative. But noticeable as his many political attacks on Modi government.

Rahul and Reality

SUPPORT PRICE

Rahul: UPA hiked wheat MSP from Rs 640 to Rs 1,400 per quintal. Modi govt's annual hike was only Rs 50

REALITY: That Rs 640-1,400 hike came in 10 years, from 2004-05 to 2013-14. So, false comparison. And UPA-II's MSP hike in its last year was Rs 50 too. Same order of increase in support prices Increase in minimum support prices Rs /Quintal

REAL ESTATE BILL

Rahul: UPA defined an apartment's carpet area clearly — as net usable area excluding walls. Modi govt has complicated matters by bringing in the National Building Code.

REALITY: Revised Bill says real estate can be sold only on actual carpet area.

Rahul: UPA didn't allow change in plan post approval and project launch. Modi govt Bill allows undefined 'minor alterations'

REALITY: Revised Bill says builders need 'yes' from two-thirds of allottees for making a change. Allows minor alterations for architectural & structural reasons

AMETHI FOOD PARK

Rahul: Scrapping of food park is politics of revenge. Project would have given better prices to farmers

REALITY: Amethi project a non-starter since its 2010 sanction. And govt says the petroleum ministry under UPA in 2013 had refused to supply gas to the project

AGRI CREDIT

Rahul: Farm credit hike averaged 20% every year under UPA. Modi govt gave only 5%

REALITY: RBI data show farm credit growth was 15% in 2014-15, roughly Modi's first year, compared with 13.5% in 2013-14, UPA's last year. And the hikes given out so far by Modi govt are more than 5%. The 2015-16 budgetary hike is around 6.5%

FARM GROWTH

Rahul: Farm growth was 4.1% under UPA, fell to 1% in Modi's first year

REALITY: At least in 4 years, farm growth was 1% or less in the 10 years of UPA Not much difference in farm sector growth Annual growth in agri, forestry & fishing (%)

NET NEUTRALITY

Rahul: Govt wants corporates to take over Internet. Trai consultations won't do. Need to bring in a law

REALITY: Trai is a statutory body. And the telecom minister has supported net neutrality. Plus, there's a 6-member telecom ministry panel looking into the issue. And, you didn't hear Rahul talk about UPA's strong-arm net laws.

India is becoming a World Leader in Rescue Missions

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), set up in the aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami, to handle natural disaster cases in India, is now going global.
The authority's activities are not limited to India. The first oversees mission of the NDMA was carried out by its disaster response arm, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), in Japan in 2011 after the earthquake in Tohoku that triggered another devastating Tsunami.

The NDRF team was well-equipped to handle the entire situation and has also been felicitated by Japan.

The NDRF is also being constantly upgraded. It started out with a staff strength of around 8,000 in 2006, but it is all set to double up now and is touching the 15,000 number. It is a multi-disciplinary, multi-task force meeting standards of any other international body.

Though India was present and was leading in Ukraine Crisis, Maldives Water Crisis etc and within India local relief like Uttarakhand floods, Jammu and Kashmir Valley Floods etc in past. The Recent two Humanitarian Missions shown the World that India is capable of Leading the World in Rescue Missions.

Defining images of India's evacuation from Yemen

In a massive 'Operation Raahat', the government has made use of IAF's C-17 Globemasters and Indian Navy's INS Sumitra to carry out the evacuation. Special Air India flights have also been flown to bring back Indians.

Sushma Swaraj and her team were in the news from a couple of days and this time it was for a good reason. Sushma Swaraj has directly responded to a request from Sabha Shawesh, a Yemeni woman married to an Indian and this response has won the appreciation from all over. On March 31st, Sabah has reached out to Modi & Sushma on Twitter for help. "My baby is an Indian & has every right to be evacuated from Yemen but can't walk himself as 8 months. I need to accompany him," she had pleaded on Twitter.

Within no time, Sushma Swaraj has directly replied to Sabah about her whereabouts. She has taken the contact details of Sabah and with the help of Indian Embassy in Sanaa, Sabha and her son were brought back to India. As soon as the mother & son reached India, Sabah has thanked the Minister. "Finally safe in India. All thanks to Sushma and her incredible team. Jainhind," said Sabah. And, the minister has reciprocated the happiness by saying "No need for thanks. It is our duty towards our country and countrymen. God bless your child - our young citizan," tweeted Sushma.

MoS for External Affairs VK Singh went to Djibouti to oversee the evacuation of around 4,000 Indians and 960 Foreign People from 41 Different Countries. Railways played its own role by providing free tickets to evacuees for travel from Mumbai, where they landed, to their destinations across the country.

An Egyptian woman, who was among 960 foreign nationals evacuated by India from Yemen, has lauded Indian Army for rescuing her from the strife-torn country.

Praising Indian soldiers, Alyaa Gaber Mohamed said it was only because of their efforts that she was alive. "The reason I'm alive now, after God's will, is the Indian Army," Alyaa, who is in 20s, wrote in a facebook post. "They let us sleep in the rooms that the army use to sleep in and they offered us a five star service. They brought us food, juices, milk, medicines and doctors," she said. A delegation from the Egyptian Embassy was waiting for Alyaa in Djibouti as she arrived and arranged her return to Egypt. "I'm happy with this journey, despite the hard times I saw, because I also knew that there are still good people who offer help and sacrifices without being waiting for something in return," said Alyaa.

India's Immediate and Strong Relief to Nepal

Nepal witnessed a devastating earthquake on 25th April, 2015, taking over 5,000 lives and affecting millions of people. It is believed to be the worst disaster that has affected the country since 1934. As our heart goes out to those who have suffered from this horrific calamity, the Indian government has done much more than send condolence messages. India’s responsiveness to the situation started within 15 minutes of the earthquake even before Nepal Government took Lead.

Scaling up relief and rescue efforts in quake-hit Nepal that was named ‘Operation Maitri’, India on Sunday deployed two dozen military aircraft and choppers and was also undertaking a “big evacuation” through the road route. As a top Indian official described the situation in the Himalayan nation as “very, very serious”, nearly 1,000 trained personnel of the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) were also pressed into service after Nepal was struck on Saturday by the worst earthquake in 80 years, killing over 2,350 people.

A slew of steps were also taken for speedy evacuation of stranded tourists including goodwill visas to foreigners and mobilising buses and ambulances to bring them by road.

Spain has sought India's help in evacuating its nationals from Nepal. "Assured the Spanish Foreign Minister that India will provide all possible help to Spanish nationals in Nepal," Prime Minister Narendra Modi later tweeted.

Ambassador of Nepal to India Deep Upadhyay has thanked India profusely for the quick reaction by the government. Addressing the media he said "it is only because of the assistance from India that we have managed build such a rescue operation. Within an hour I was lucky to get calls from Prime Minister and Home Minister and in sometime from Delhi chief minister as well. Within seven hours Indian rescue teams reached there. Here we are trying to give information, support and collection of relief material here".

US today praised India's leadership role in helping earthquake-hit Nepal and persons of different nationalities stranded in war-ravaged Yemen. "India has demonstrated its global leadership in recent weeks, first in Yemen and now in Nepal. We are grateful; we are impressed; we are inspired.

India is becoming the Leader to the World not by showing its Power, but by its kind hearted people and helping Nature.

Average Indian browse 11 times Slower Speed than a South Korean

Its shocking harder truth that an average Indian browse at a speed of 2 Mbps. While only 1.1 % users have above 10 Mbps connection and only 7.8% users have greater than 4 Mbps connection. We just rank 116 in Global Rank in Internet Connection Speed, with average annual growth at 54% year-over-year. While even our neighbours like China, Vietnam rank 82, 99 in Global Ranks. While Indian Prime Minister office was 34 Mbps connection by 2015, but no reflection in rest of India. The peak internet speed by an individual is just 14Mbps.

While an average South Korean browses at speed of 22 Mbps. South Korea ranking No.1 in Global Rank at internet connection speed. They now entered in 5G network. While India is struggling to reach its 3G network all over India. Still Europe ranks in high speed mobile connections by providing highest at 16Mbps. India is still providing average mobile speed of 1.9 Mbps. New initiatives like Internet.org expected to provide free internet connection throughout India. Long way towards growth India.. Common India you can improve wisely..
